Urban Kitchen Renovation
Calgary, Alberta.
Our client’s the Richard’s were introduced to REBEL&CHIC as they were getting ready to sell their home, however decided to renovate their kitchen before listing their property. They wanted to make the home more appealing to potential buyers in order to sell their home faster. Within their budget, they wanted to make changes to modernize the kitchen but the cost of new cabinets was out of the question.
Our goal in collaboration with the Richard’s was to keep the kitchen feeling light and bright, choosing a monochromatic color scheme in light and neutral tones to attract a wider audience in the purchasing pool of potential buyers.
The Design:
-
Paint
-
Flooring
-
Tile, countertops & hardware
-
Crown molding
The Final Result:
The walls, baseboard, casings and doors were painted in a soft, off white - White Dove.
To keep the room feeling cozy and inviting to potential buyers, a soft greige tone called Pashmina was selected to paint the existing kitchen cabinets. This tone compliments the new flooring of Driftwood Oak Laminate, providing a seamless transition between the mix of off whites in the room. Black was chosen as an accent color for all cabinetry hardware to provide a grounding element in the space, as well as incorporate the dark tones from the kitchen table.
Sustainability Impact included incorporating:
-
Use of the existing cabinetry and updating the look by painting the cabinets and modernizing the hardware
-
Paints used from chosen sustainable paint brands and tinted in selected colors.
-
The use of locally owned contractor services through this project from painters to flooring installation
– just like REBEL&CHIC is a locally owned business.
